1. Sleep with a satin pillow case to keep your hair smooth and reduce split ends
2. Directionally hand drying your hair up to 80% before using brushes helps reduce damage and drying time.
3. Make sure that your skin is steamed and moist before exfoliating.
4. On towel dried hair use a deep conditioning mask on your ends every 3-4 shampoo's and comb through for even distribution. Your hair will be shinier, smoother and have better color longevity & styling performance!
5. Wet hair is more fragile; Always blot or squeeze out the extra water and don't rub the hair in between the towel (this roughs up the cuticle layer and causes frizz and breakage)
6. Always use a wide tooth comb when your hair is wet and start from the ends up.
7. Think of your hair as a fabric; use cooler water and high quality professional shampoo on color treated hair (you wouldn't wash your new vibrantly colored designer dress in hot water with cheap detergent).
8. For longer lasting volume and a barrier against humidity use a root lifting spray and your blow dryers cold shot in a lifting action, near the scalp while your hair is still warm.
9. For best curls comb your conditioner through, rinse and blot out excess water (do not comb your hair with your fingers or a comb after getting out of the shower); scrunch in your curl defining product, twist 1 inch circumference sections of hair then dry while cupping the hair up into a diffuser.
10. Use your nozzle! Not only will it protect your hair from the heat but it will give you a smoother, shinier finish!
11. For stubborn cowlicks: Start with wet hair, apply a light gel directly to the cowlick and then completely dry, pinching hair in the opposite direction of growth.
12. For amazing flat iron results: Always use a thermal protectant. Adjust your heat accordingly to your hair type and move quickly through each section instead of slowly moving down the hair strand. This will prevent burning.
13. For our fine haired girls out there: Apply conditioner only to mid shaft and ends. Then rinse with cooler water to close the cuticle and add shine!
14. USE PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS – they don’t build up on your hair and have heavier concentrations, therefore you use less and they last longer. Buying professional products in the salon ensures quality, allows your stylist to prescribe the perfect product for your individual hair needs and supports our education
